The stop command specifies that when the event specified by the breakpoint occurs and all processing for that breakpoint has been completed, the debugger should prompt for further commands.

The when command specifies that when the event specified by the breakpoint occurs and all processing for that breakpoint has been completed, the debugger may resume execution of the program.
